Indoleacetic acid oxidase and an inhibitor in pineapple tissue.
نویسندگان
چکیده
Tang and Bonner (16) have described an indoleacetic acid (IAA) oxidase system in pea epicotyls, and also an IAA oxidase inhibitor (17). These findings have been confirmed and extended by others (5-8, 18) and an IAA oxidase has been found in several plants, including beans (18) and pineapple leaf tissue (9). The presence of an inhibitor of IAA oxidation has not previously been shown in the pineapple plant.

The coenzyme requirement and enzyme inhibitors of pineapple indoleacetic acid oxidase.
E&acts of pineapple stem tissue constitute the most potent known source of indoleacetic acid oxidase, despite the presence of an inhibitor which is difficult to remove without simultaneously removing some other factor necessary for maximal activity (I). Dialysis invariably lowers the enzyme activity as compared with photolysis, and even prolonged photolysis is never completely effective in remo...
متن کاملEffect of indoleacetic Acid and hydroxyproline on isoenzymes of peroxidase in wheat coleoptiles.
Indoleacetic acid at 0.017 millimolar inhibited the formation of three peroxidase isoenzymes in both soluble and wall-bound enzyme fractions of wheat coleoptile (Triticum vulgare) tissue. Hydroxyproline at 1 millimolar prevented the indoleacetic acid-induced inhibition. Indoleacetic acid oxidase activity in the soluble fraction was decreased by indoleacetic acid and was restored by hydroxyproli...

A neutral substance, convertible to an acid auxin, is present in various plant extracts (5, 9) and chemical preparations (9). As indicated by a number of biological tests, the neutral substance is in all likelihood 3-indole acetaldehyde and will for convenience be designated by this name in the present paper. In a previous paper (11) it was shown that 3-indole acetaldehyde is rapidly converted ...
متن کاملPromotion of indoleacetic Acid oxidase isoenzymes in tobacco callus cultures by indoleacetic Acid.
Indoleacetic acid oxidase in tobacco callus cultures (Nicotiana tabacum L., cv. White Gold) was composed of at least two groups of isoenzymes, which were distinctly different in electrophoretic mobilities and in responses to growth substances. Indoleacetic acid had dual effects; at low concentrations it promoted the development of two fast-migrating indoleacetic acid oxidase isoenzymes, but at ...
متن کاملDistribution of Indoleacetic Acid Oxidase and Inhibitors in Light-Grown Cotton.
Extracts of green plant tissues exhibiting IAAoxidase activity characteristically contain inhibitors of the enzyme (4, 11). The high concentration of such inhibitors prompted the discoverers of IAAoxidase to suggest that the system does not function in green tissue (16). Later, Galston and Dalberg (6) found that in etiolated tissue the in vitro IAAoxidase activity increases with age or IAA trea...
